Wegovy® is a prescription medication containing semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is approved for chronic weight management in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older with obesity or overweight conditions, especially when accompanied by weight-related comorbidities. Additionally, Wegovy® is indicated to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) such as heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death in adults with established cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight.

Wegovy® is administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection. It is available in a pre-filled, single-dose pen. The injection can be given in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites with each dose. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions on proper injection technique.

To minimize gastrointestinal side effects, Wegovy® dosing begins at a lower dose and gradually increases:

In people with type 2 diabetes, low blood sugar may occur.

• Store Wegovy® pens in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F).Do not freeze.

There are no specific food restrictions, but to minimize gastrointestinal side effects, consider eating smaller meals, avoiding high-fat foods, and staying hydrated.

Q4: What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If the next dose is less than 2 days away, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Q5: Can I stop taking Wegovy® once I reach my weight loss goal?

Discontinuing Wegovy® may lead to weight regain. Consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your medication regimen.
